Our Brother’s Keeper Initiative

Reentry Support Rooted in FaithOur Work

A 6–18 month, faith-rooted reentry path for men coming home.

Overview

Program overview

More than a place to stay—a complete foundation for a new life.

Our 6–18 month transitional housing program is designed to address the root causes of recidivism. We provide more than just a place to stay—we offer a complete foundation for building a new life. From the moment a resident arrives, they are surrounded by support, structure, and opportunities for growth.

Each resident participates in vocational training, spiritual development, and life skills education. Our goal is to equip them with everything they need to succeed: job skills, faith, financial literacy, and a supportive community. We believe that transformation is possible when people are given the right tools and environment.

Transitional Housing

Safe, stable housing in a peaceful rural setting for 6–18 months. Residents live in a supportive community environment designed to promote healing and growth.

Financial management, job search strategies, communication skills, and practical guidance on building a new life from the ground up.

Job Placement Support

Assistance with resume writing, interview preparation, and connecting with employers who value second chances.

The problem

The challenge we address

Without support, the odds are against a successful reentry.

When a man walks out of a South Carolina prison with nowhere to go, the state hands him a bus ticket and maybe $25. That's it. No job. No home. No support system. The economic pressure, lack of skills, and return to the same broken environment lead one in five men back to prison within three years. We break this cycle by providing comprehensive support during the critical transition period.

Philosophy

Our approach

We address both temporal and spiritual needs.

We believe in addressing both temporal and spiritual needs. A man needs practical skills to earn a living, but he also needs hope, purpose, and a relationship with God. Our program combines vocational training with spiritual development, creating a holistic approach to transformation. We don't just prepare men for reentry—we prepare them for a completely new life.
